|
Li Shuang was born in Beijing in an intellectual family.
|

Up until she was 8 years old, she was raised by her grand-father,
|
| |
since her parents were sent to a reeducation camp. |
| |
|
|
1976
|
She met the Wuming Anonymous and Xingxing Stars groups, movements
|
| |
of artists made of poets, musicians, painters and scupltors who
originated
|
| |
the development of the Chinese contemporary art.
|
|
|
As a student, she was sent to the country and must work in the fields.
|
| |
|
|
1978
|
When she came back to the city, she made a living creating sceneries
|
| |
for the Youth Artistic Theatre of Beijing.
|
| |
|
|
1979
|
Li Shuang is the only female founder member of the Xingxing group, Stars*,
|
| |
first vanguard artistic movement in China.
|
| |
She participated in the first unauthorised exhibition on the fence of the parc
|
| |
adjoigning the National museum of Beijing. The exhibition was soon repressed
|
| |
by the police.
|
|
|
|
|
1980
|
The group is given the right to expose in the Huafangzai pavillon.
|
| |
Li Shuang presents her work : The Light of Hopes.
|
|
|
At this occasion, she meets her future husband, a young French diplomat.
|
|
|
|
|
1981
|
She was arrested and sentenced to two years in prison.
|
|
|
|
|
1983
|
She quitted her country for France.
