Yang Jiechang 杨诘苍 naît le 16 novembre à Foshan, province du Guangdong,
|
|
|
en Chine du Sud.
|
| |
|
|
1970
|
Pendant la révolution culturelle, il devient garde rouge. |
| |
|
|
1973
|
Il entre à l'Institut d'Art Populaire de Foshan où il étudie la calligraphie et les collages. |
|
|
|
|
1978
|
Il poursuit ses études sur la peinture traditionnelle à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts |
|
|
de Guangzhou. |
|
|
Il fait paraître quatre publications : |
| |
- Les origines de la peinture chinoise de paysages.
|
|
|
- Comment admettre la "copie" comme méthode éducative dans l'enseignement
|
| |
de la peinture en Chine.
|
|
|
- L'école de peinture de Lingnam appartient déjà à l'histoire révolue.
|
| |
- La fin des idoles : il n'y a pas d'art dans les écoles d'art.
|
| |
|
|
1982

Diplômé d'un Master en Arts, il enseigne à l'Académie des Beaux-Arts de Guangzhou. |

Il sinitie au Taoisme et au Bouddhisme zen. |
| |

1989- 1999
|
One hundred layers of ink, cette série présentée à l'exposition Magiciens de la Terre,
|
| |
au Centre Georges Pompidou lui assure un renommée internationale.
|
| |
Il décide de s'installer définitivement à Paris.
|
| |
Il épouse l'Allemande Martina Köppel, historienne d'art contemporain chinois .
|
| |
|
|

Il est en résidence à l'Institut pour l'Art Contemporain KW de Berlin.

Il vit et travaille à Paris France et à Heidelberg Allemagne. |
