Hong Rui-Lin 洪瑞麟 (1912-1996 ) naît à Dadaocheng Taiwan.

Attiré par l'Art dès son enfance, il entre à l'Institut des Beaux-Arts de Taipei |

( section Peinture ) sous la conduite du japonais Ishikawa Kinichiro ( 1871-1945 ) |

Il part au Japon poursuivre ses études de peinture, d'abord à l'École d' Art Kawabataga

puis à l'École Impériale des Beaux-Arts de Tokyo.

DIplômé en peinture occidentale, il revient à Taiwan. |

Première exposition individuelle au Taipei Educatio Public Hall. |

Son emploi à la mine de charbon de Ruifang est pour lui source d'inspiration,

Il rejoint le groupe d'artistes Tai-Yang Art Society, participe à leurs expositions , |

Il enseigne à mi-temps le dessin et la peinture occidentale, à l'uinversité Nationale |

des Arts de Taipei. |

Il part vivre en Californie où il décède en 1996. |

Le fils aîné du peintre fait don de 1496 peintures et 40 carnets d'esquisses au Musée |
